"Helping our Veterans and Their Families to have Healthy Reunions"
OBJECTIVE OF THE OHR PROGRAM
Operations Healthy Reunions (OHR) mission is to arrange short and extended therapy to our service recipients who are composed of Veterans who were deployed in a wartime overseas campaign. These warriors are considered our "primary" recipients. OHR serves all branches of the US Military. Our sole objective for our primary recipients is to complete our program with tangible tools to better manage their mental health and adjustment issues related to deployment and reintegration.
Our program also serves the parents', family members, spouse, significant others, children and individuals the Veteran see as their support system. Our mission seeks to ensure the services rendered through our organization provides a mental health tool box for each client to draw on long after they have left our program.
OPERATION HEALTHY REUNIONS AT A GLANCE
The mission of OHR is to support military families who are experiencing the effects of deployment and combat-related injuries. Operation Healthy Reunions (OHR) is excited to enter our 4th year of providing mental health services via referral to Veterans before, during and after deployment. Mental Health America of Greater Dallas (MHA) – OHR is proud to have designed a program that provides 3 major components for this population: Easy Access, Effective Evidence Based Therapeutic Services and Confidentiality.
OHR program provides Easy Access to care through a network of 50+ contracted, licensed mental health professionals located within a 12 county coverage area. All OHR providers must complete our credentialing process before they can enter our network. Due to the expansiveness of our program, participants 1) avoid long travel times to and from the Dallas VA Medical Center 2) have short wait times before seeing their therapist 3) have the ability to see the same provider throughout their participation in our program.
In order for a provider to receive entrance into the OHR program they detail what type of Evidence Based Therapies they most often use in their program. The majority list CBT, Solution Focus Brief Therapy. To date OHR is the only program in Greater Dallas that provides services to active service members, veterans, their parents, spouse, significant other and children...all FREE of charge!
Confidentiality is one of the major corner stones of our program. At no time does OHR release any information without written consent from program participants unless there is a threat of harm to self or others. Although OHR could not have achieved the fantastic growth we have obtained without the incredible support via referrals from the Dallas VA Medical Center Social Work, Mental Health Trauma and Poly Trauma Departments, and Army Wounded Warrior, and now the US Army; we must strictly adhere to our confidentiality policies.
